DEVIOCK PARISH AND
DEVIOCK PARISH COUNCIL

Deviock Parish is a coastal civil region in south-east Cornwall situated approximately three miles west of St Germans and straddles the valley of the River Seaton. There are three electoral wards with Councillors representing the villages of Downderry, Seaton and Hessenford and the hamlets of Narkurs and Trelowia.

The Parish (GSS code E04011428) covers an area of just over 2,067 hectares.

In 2011, there were 1,420 usual residents on Census day. The average (mean) age of residents was 47.3 years. In total there were 799 household spaces. Of these, 639 (80%) had at least one usual resident and 160 (20%) had no usual residents. There were over 244 children under 18 years.

The Parish Council meets at the ZONE on the second Thursday of the month (except August and December) at 7pm to hear the public and to conduct essential business.

The Planning Committee meets to hear planning applications on the fourth Thursday of the month (not December) and on the third Thursday in August, at 6.30pm.

The full Council also meets on the third Thursday of December in order to approve the budget for the following year.
